Can't Hide now, the Truth within Seconds
The Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI), a division of the Attorney General’s office is the central database for criminal records of the state of Rhode Island. Rhode Island Criminal Records are considered confidential but procedures are in place for the public to access them. A special state release form must be signed and notarized for information including Rhode Island Arrest Records to be released to authorized agencies or third-party individuals. The only requirement for self-checks is a photo-ID.
Rhode Island Arrest Records consist of significant criminal details but confidential data like financial and credit card information, passwords and full account numbers will be excluded. The BCI accepts name-based searches for criminal records via mail, in person and online. All requests must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope and the $5 search fee. This information is also available at various county offices, police stations, highway patrol’s and sheriff’s offices and other enforcement agencies across the State. The usual turnaround time is 10 business days.
