Previously known as the Criminal Records and Identification Division of Missouri, the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) undertakes the responsibility of arrest records per state statute for the state of Missouri. It is one of the divisions at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Department and it maintains the state's central repository. The criminal files under its charge are updated on a daily basis under the supervision of the County Sheriff's office. The public can request this information at the CJIS in person, through mail, phone, fax or online. Signed release is not required.
