The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is a division at the Colorado Department of Public Safety. Among other charters, it is responsible for the state management and administration of criminal justice records and data sharing with other justice agencies and the public. It is also where the state’s central repository of all criminal history arrest records is situated. This Computerized Criminal History (CCH) database encompasses detailed information on Colorado arrest records based upon the fingerprints submitted by the region’s law enforcement agencies. Only arrests which are supported by fingerprints are included in this database. Other information such as warrant information, sealed records and juvenile records are not available to the public. Sex-related crime information are also handled on a local basis at their respective district or county level law enforcement agencies.
