June Shannon, the mother of Alana Thompson, who is known as “Honey Boo Boo” was arrested in 2008 on charges which stemmed from “a child support issue.” Shannon was also charged with theft around the same time, but both criminal cases were subsequently dismissed. The Thompson family was investigated by Child Services in March after Honey Boo Boo was shown on Toddlers and Tiaras drinking Mountain Dew and Red Bull, a drink Shannon called “Go-Go Juice.” Video was also discovered of the child dancing in a bar. Maybe her name should be changed to Honey Boo Hoo with a parent who makes poor choices like this.
